Job Summary/Basic Function

The Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) is seeking an organized, creative and self-motivated individual to help develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate education and primary prevention programming materials and events that address gender-based discrimination, interpersonal violence, stalking, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other areas that fall within the scope of OIEC.
Under the guidance of the OIEC professional staff, the Graduate Assistant will work closely with students, the campus community, and the public in order to develop educational opportunities relating to gender-based discrimination, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and other areas that fall within the scope of OIEC.
The Graduate Assistant will disseminate competent and culturally relevant information pertaining to student organizations, faculty, staff, and the community through all communication mediums.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: •Assist in developing primary prevention materials and programming for students, faculty, and staff; •Develop and coordinate training for students, faculty, and staff; •Provide programming for students and student organizations (possibly outside of the normal 8am to 5pm work hours); •Assist with logistics of all aspects of programming events; •Create signage and publications for social media platforms; •Create and manage the OIEC monthly newsletter; •Help with event promotions, planning and execution of events for OIEC; •Collaborate with other Maryville student organizations and departments to promote, plan, and execute events that align with the scope of OIEC; •Keep an accurate record of all primary prevention programs throughout the academic year; •Assist OIEC professional staff as needed.
Compensation:
- Stipend for the spring semester: $1,500
- Tuition award for the spring semester: 6 credits/$4,644
Work Hours: •Approximately 20 hours per week- arranged with supervisor •Some nights and weekends may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelors Degree
- Admittance into Maryville University's MBA, ED, DSCI, DPT or COMM graduate program.
Position requires an individual with attention to detail, strong communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast pace environment. Individual must be proficient in all Microsoft programs, all social media platforms and have ability to multi-task and work independently or within a group; and to complete tasks with little supervision and manage time effectively. Individual should display professionalism in all work duties and possess excellent customer service skills.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Candidates must be accepted into the School of Business, School of Education, Strategic Communication and Leadership, DPT or Computer Science graduate or doctoral program at Maryville University to be considered for the Graduate Assistant position in OIEC. Selected candidate must be a student in good standing in the academic program and at the University, and complete assignments in a conscientious, timely, professional manner.
